We have established the rules valid at the University during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the regulation no. 144/2021, Prof. Przemysław Wiszewski, Rector of UWr, changed the previously valid regulations. We publish the most important information from these documents.
Due to the state of the COVID-19 pandemic at the University of Wrocław, we have introduced rules to guarantee the safety of everyone in our community. We strongly appeal for obeying these rules – it will help to ensure health not only for us, but also for our relatives, colleagues and co-workers. Let’s take care of each other!
We have set up an Epidemic Safety Team, which reacts to the situation on an ongoing basis and coordinates activities at the university. It acts quickly to ensure safety when needed. The team leader Director General Barbara Starnawska is in direct contact with the university rector.
Important rules
All people in the university must follow a few rules – we’ re sure you know them well. These include the obligation to wear a mask to cover your nose and mouth, and to wash and disinfect your hands frequently (this must be done by all persons – students and the lecturer!) before entering the room where classes are held.
We also recommend that you keep a safe distance and measure your temperature – there are automatic thermometers at the entrances to the buildings. If you have a fever (over 37.5 degrees Celsius) – leave class or work. Be sure to tell the person in charge of your class – if you are a student; your supervisor – if you are an employee; the head of your study or PhD college – if you are a PhD student. Also contact your GP.
If you do not follow these instructions – you may be warned and asked to leave the building.
SARS-CoV-2 infection
If you know that you have been infected (we wish you a speedy recovery!), please let us know via this application form: https://uni.wroc.pl/zglos-zachorowanie-covid19.
If you are a student, please generate information about SARS-CoV-2 infection from your Individual Patient Account at www.pacjent.gov.pl and send it to us using the interactive form on our website. If you do not have access to an Individual Patient Account, please send us a scan of the test. Please also enter all the necessary data in the form, this will allow us to respond quickly.
In this situation, the dean of the faculty will decide that your classes will take place in a digital or hybrid format. In the later case, only vaccinated persons may take part in the stationary classes. You will need to show a certificate confirming that you are vaccinated. Classes in this format will take place over the next seven days.
If you have taught a group that includes a person who has been infected with SARS-CoV-2 – the university will send you for a virus test.
If you are a university employee/employee, inform us that you are infected. Call your supervisor/supervisee, or if you can’t get through – send an email. Also let us know at covid19@uwr.edu.pl.
Dormitories
If you live in a dormitory, you must give a declaration that you have no symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 infection and that you will follow the rules in place. This means that you must disinfect your hands, reduce contact with other people living in the student dormitory, and limit the use of common rooms. You must also frequently ventilate the rooms and disinfect the surfaces you use in the common rooms (worktop, switches, handrails, handles, washing machine buttons, cooker knobs, etc.).
Also, don’t forget to keep a safe distance and wear a mask to cover your nose and mouth in shared spaces. Your dormitory will have a set number of people who can stay in each room – respect these restrictions. You can’t take visitors and try not to go out unnecessarily between the hours of 11pm and 6am.
If you have been in contact with a person infected with SARS-CoV-2 or have symptoms indicative of illness, be sure to call or email the manager of the student house. Stay in your room and wait for further information.
If you do not follow these guidelines, you must face immediate check-out from the dormitory.
Events, trips, meetings
All events, conferences and meetings may take place in accordance with current Polish regulations. The person organising the event must ensure its safety in consultation with the Health and Safety and Fire Protection Department.
Trips – both domestic and international – are also possible, but you need to be aware of the applicable regulations and take into account any epidemic situation at the place of departure.
If you are an employee and have returned from a country where there has been a significant increase in COVID-19 infections, you may request financing for a SARS-CoV-2 virus test. Address this request to the Director General.
Graduation ceremonies
We do not currently hold traditional graduation ceremonies for Bachelor’s, Engineer’s and Master’s degrees. These ceremonies are held hybrid. Only diploma recipients, authorities and promoters can be present. Other participants can attend the ceremony remotely.
