The Mieroszewski Scholarship Programme 'A Month in Poland' is a unique opportunity to develop knowledge.
The aim of the Mieroszewski Scholarship Programme A month in Poland is to enable researchers from Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Russia to explore and document important aspects of the history, political situation, culture and heritage of the peoples of Central and Eastern Europe. By supporting projects of the nature of interviews, surveys, archive and library searches, the programme seeks to foster knowledge and understanding between the peoples of the above-mentioned countries.
"A Month in Poland" programme enables grantees to fully engage in their projects. It is an excellent opportunity to work on research, make use of the rich literature and archival sources and establish contacts with experts in the field.
Research projects have a major impact on relations between nations. They introduce new horizons of understanding, break stereotypes and shape attitudes based on sound knowledge. Scientific research brings objective evidence and information to the debate between nations. And knowledge becomes a bridge to build relationships based on shared intellectual values.
Cooperation and research between scientists and experts is the key to developing lasting and sustainable relations between countries, which is particularly important in Central and Eastern Europe.
The study of history, culture and politics allows for an understanding of the context of actions and decisions, gives voice to different perspectives, enabling a re-evaluation of narratives and an understanding of why certain events took place. This is crucial to avoiding biases and misunderstandings and mistakes of the past.
