Objective: 

The goal of this course is to get students acquainted with key problems of the subdiscipline of sociology of risk and with the consequences of reflexive modernization. The seminar also focuses on problems of trust, security, uncertainty and the construction of risk society.

Assessment: 

Assessment of individual student's preparation for the classes and participation in the discussions during the classes (30% of final mark)
Assessment of student's essays (60% of final mark)

Assessment of student's project - work with empirical data during classes (10% of final mark)

Prerequisites: 

Basic knowledge in sociology, social structures and modernization.
