Objective: 

During this course students will learn how to understand, use and communicate statistical data analysis in sociology. They will be given an introduction to the core concepts of social statistics, the methods of univariant and bivariant descriptions, the analysis of associations between variables and the methods of basic statistical inference. They will also learn how to apply appropriate statistical methods and techniques to given variable sets and research questions.

Assessment of the participation in group discussions during the classes
Two test papers

(3-5) Univariate statistics

(6-8) Measures of associations,

(3 and 6) Graphs and scare-plots,
